Will the radical digitalization and simplification also commit to cheaper pricing?

      I think not

How many of the people who came up with this obscenely stupid idea failed upwards from SNCF and DB ?

I don’t mind another pricing system but this thing seems so obscure. Somehow the more you take the train the less you pay? How are you supposed to budget for that?

Sooo milk the people that actually depend on public transport for daily life so you can offer lower prices for people that MIGHT use it. And of course, they don’t actually plan on getting any increased revenue. Right.

Just a quick reminder that Albert Rösti is actively sabotaging SBB/CFF/FFS as well as public transportation in general. He’s fighting for unnecessary price increases just out of spite for an extremely popular public service.

But hey: You vote for people who absolutely HATE public transportation, you get worse public transportation. Don’t act surprised

Pro: Simplification especially when traveling across tariff zones.

Con: More spontaneous usage. Less predictable demand. More underused or overfilled trains and buses.

it’s barely cheaper for me with a halftax (compared to driving)

I look forward to even more stau everywhere!!

A better source, from a month ago: [https://www.srf.ch/sendungen/kassensturz-espresso/espresso/projekt-my-ride-radikale-vereinfachung-des-oev-ticket-systems-soll-2027-kommen](https://www.srf.ch/sendungen/kassensturz-espresso/espresso/projekt-my-ride-radikale-vereinfachung-des-oev-ticket-systems-soll-2027-kommen)

      TL;DR:

      * Change should be revenue-neutral for the whole system
      * A new base price will be somewhere between the current Halbtax and the current full fare
      * For high users, a “distance” discount based on total distance used in a month wil apply, the futher the distance, the higher the discount

Essentially, you don’t have to think if a Halbtax is worth or not *before* using public transit. Simply using public transit more will automatically trigger the discounts.

To me this is good news. I currently got a halbtax, but only because I got it for half of the price. Probably I will not extend it for full price.

If someone is using public transport very often I think they will go for a GA anyway.

“Car users should use the train”. “We’re cancelling the incentives for people who regularly use the train”. 🤔 Am I the only one seeing the conflicts here?

    11. un-glaublich on

Without the Halbtax, the ticket prices are completely ridiculous and out of line with alternative transport options. So for any regular public transport user, the Halbtax (or GA) is a must.

Abolishing the half-fare and replacing it with e.g. a 75% fare would effectively just increasing the ticket price for the majority of users with 50%. This would just push people into cars and clog up the roads even more.

I like the idea of scrapinf the half fare card, the government should just pay for it for everyone, if you don’t take the train it is your problem then.

Après les assurances maladie, les transports publics sans parler de toutes les autres augmentations du coût de la vie …

Les classes populaires sont progressivement étouffées et après ça viendra pleurer quand elles se réveilleront…
