Ehi, sarò a Cipro questa settimana e sono un grande appassionato di calcio. Pensi che valga la pena andare ad una di queste due partite? Pafos è a circa un’ora di macchina e l’altra ancora più lontano. L’atmosfera alle partite è buona?

1. You can easily go to any match you want provided you have created the CFA fan’s card. Up until May I could have told you exactly how to do it, but since they changed it this season I am not sure what the steps are for a non-citizen. You can find tickets to practically any match outside the stadium, unless it’s the eternal derby, or maybe a cup semi-final/final.
2. Atmosphere varies a lot. Since most of the big clubs have their own ultras there is always some sort of atmosphere. Of course the 2 big Nicosia clubs and the 2 big Limassol clubs (Omonoia/Apoel & Apollon/AEL) have the best atmosphere, but it’s generally around the same level of other Mediterranean/Balkan countries (albeit with much fewer people). Keep in mind that ultras are generally VERY politically active and especially Apoel/Apollon/Anorthosi, are right to far-right, while Omonoia are left. Both of these matches however are fairly straight forward for the “big” teams and therefore there is a chance of the games not being good enough for the fans to get into them.
3. If you are staying in Cyprus in Sunday as well and you want to go to a match for the atmosphere and NOT for the quality or the football, then Omonoia 29th of May play at 15:30. It’s a club formed by the former ultras of Omonoia Nicosia back in 2018 and are very left-leaning but also basically 60% ultras. Since it’s a 2nd division match you won’t even need a fan’s card. But I have to warn you that the quality of the matches in the 2nd division is very low.
If you have any questions feel free to DM me and enjoy your stay!
honestly, no. I dont expect the match attendance to be big, so atmosphere will be dead.
Both of those teams (Omonia Aradippou and Ethnikos) are bottom tier in every tournament – however the saving grace is Pafos FC which is currently the top team and is defending champion of the league and UCL participants.
If you can, I’d suggest going to the AEL – Aris, that’s the match of the week.
