I was going to post this but felt with defamation laws that it might attract trouble…

What a strange article. It says the company is under investigation but barely even explains what the investigation is about. If money was siphoned from a charity, it’s basic journalism to investigate how much money was involved, what charity was affected, details of the event etc.
It feels like the Ditch just saw Heather Humphreys name and rushed to hit publish.

So is there a possibility of any wrong doing by Humphreys here or not?

Not a good look when she’s spent weeks talking about due diligence and who you choose to associate with.

“though there is no suggestion of criminal wrongdoing on Humphreys’s part.”
Yet, has a banner photo with Humphreys having a band over her mouth, and a headline written to smear Humphreys.
What a fucking shower The Ditch are. Of course the same people I saw retweeting this were barking mad about a “Smear” campaign against Catherine Connolly.

Haha, the Ditch is absolutely shameless. For all the talk of a smear campaign, I wonder will those people railing against the establishment and the smear campaign against their preferred candidate, call out this one

Ah here at this rate bring back Jim Gavin all is forgotten

This is nothing part of the terrible ongoing media smear campaign against Catherine Connolly …….. oh wait, it’s about Heather Humphries, never mind.

Lmao how did Humphreys think this was legitimate. The photos look like something out of Father Ted.
> Former Minister Heather Humphreys has been crowned the Farney Foundation Co Monaghan Person of the Year for 2024.
> The Farney Foundation was founded by local man Brian Rudden and is a non-profit entity that promotes and supports anyone and anything associated with Co. Monaghan all over the world.
> Heather Humphreys was crowned the overall winner out of 12 finalists at a black tie event which took place at the Hillgrove Hotel last night.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the former Minister said she was ‘humbled’ and ‘honoured’ to receive the award.

So the high profile politician in the Independent article this morning is Heather Humphreys then.
We need to know the discrepancy from the amount raised and the amount donated pretty quickly
Further to “[The high-profile politician, the charity event and the garda fraud investigation](https://reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/1o72x10/the_highprofile_politician_the_charity_event_and/)” discussion earlier
“Clear smear by anti authoritarian troublemakers”
“Valid investigation into presidential candidate”

Maybe I should subscribe to the Ditch, they’ve annoyed most of the Centrist Dads on here.
Is there a hint of fraud here ?
At the very least she should answer questions on this or at least be asked them
