Great news from such a sad case (should be more). Such a failure of governance and policy and acquiescing to scum. This case enraged me personally. Imagine sunbathing in a park and this happens.
I often thought of their case whenever I saw more bloody scramblers zooming around the place. I’m really glad that there’s some sort of resolution for them because it really could have dragged on forever.
Zero real consequences for the person though that landed a scrambler on his head & her pelvis/legs. That’s really disgraceful.
This is fucking heart breaking. I don’t think I’d have the strength to go on if I was this man.
And of course, little scrotes still belt along on scramblers on footpaths, roads, parks and everywhere without a care in the world
What was the consequence for the rider of the bike? I guess also that the €5m will be added to our collective premiums next year.
I know you can’t put a price on your health but 5m seems like nothing for this kind of injury. It’s that actually enough for a lifetime of quality care?
I hate the word scrambler. Until I saw a video of a kid losing control of one last year, I assumed they were just toys. But they’re actually motorbikes and should be treated as such
I remember when this happened. Horrible thing to happen to someone just minding their own buisness. He was waiting a long time for this payment.
Rider of the bike has effectively gotten away with murder.
Victim has been brain damaged, lost an eye and now requires around the clock care for as long as his body continues to breathe.
His life is over, and the rider of the bike didn’t even get a day in court.
We should reduce the scramble riders dole/disability for the next 40 years.

I sometimes read compensation claims and go that’s too much for such a settlement but in this case I am thinking 5m is too little. Would of thought double or triple for the suffering and future care he needs.
