So why do pensioners who already are the richest demographic get yet more money? Why not to the youth who need it to get anywhere near the housing ladder or even afford basic necessities.

Exactly what we need, for old people to hold on to their jobs and position even longer. You know it’s not gonna be people with difficult manual jobs who will carry on working, but managers who don’t know how to save a PDF and who should have retired 10 years ago
Edit:typo

CDU making sure their largest vote bank remains their largest vote bank at the expense of the next generation.

Young people need money more than old people for training, launching their careers, having children and buy houses….why not increase the tax free allowance for them?!

Should we export some retiree workers to Germany then? This sounds insane.

The picture is essentially a lie: of course physical jobs are the sector where you see this the least used, as generally at that age you hardly can.
This is simply a tax break for office workers. The same office workers the companies are often actually waiting for to retire since they can’t work them out anymore but are not productive with todays IT tools.
Notwithstanding also already pumping more money in the richest generation in existence.

Our government is basically giving out presents to their voters. They don’t care if it hugely damage the country’s future.

Does this include income from rentals? Because that’s the business most pensioners are in right now.

Why not give tax free benefits to young entrepreneurs funding new companies?

More tax breaks for the boomers, innovative

Whilst I’d prefer money to go to the younger demographics, I think it makes sense – Germany has a very rapidly ageing population & every year that the government can delay paying out someone’s pension means less stress on the government finger funded pension scheme. If this (or something like it) isn’t done then the people who would have to pay the tax to fund the pension bill are the younger workers.
