Fa piacere leggere un articolo che cita alcuni motivi di (cauto) ottimismo. Anche dalla stessa leadership ucraina.
So che abbiamo paura di lasciare entrare qualche speranza nei nostri cuori (e per una buona ragione) quando si tratta di Trump… Ma almeno per me, nelle ultime settimane sta diventando sempre più difficile non trovare un po’ di speranza che si insinua mentre vedo sempre più segnali che Trump potrebbe svegliarsi riguardo a Putler e all’Ucraina.
Ho letto anche questo, di qualche ora prima.

Piaccia o no, il pagamento da parte dell’Europa per le scorte statunitensi è una delle poche soluzioni su cui potremmo contare per fornire all’Ucraina alcune delle armi statunitensi di cui ha bisogno. È meglio fare affidamento su qualcuno come Trump che fa ciò che è nel suo interesse piuttosto che sulla sua carità e sul suo altruismo. (In questo caso, gli Stati Uniti vengono ricompensati per le armi in cui hanno investito, da alleati che storicamente non lo hanno fatto, e poi investono quei soldi nella costruzione di armi aggiuntive negli Stati Uniti).

Also, trump has its own agenda. He wants a nobel price, wants to goto heaven. He doesn’t give a shit about Ukraine. So how that will turn out for Ukraine is everybody’s guess
You better put your hope into your EU allies. Everything else is a plus
Not really an ally, just greed, Trump’s greed can be manipulated for Ukraine’s benefit.

‘solving’ global unrest while he invades his own country, so he ‘deserves’ a Nobel Prize. Soon, he”l claim he deserves the one in Literature b/c someone ghostwrite a book for him, and Physics b/c he stared at a solar eclipse.

I think there is more objection against this in the US than in Europe or Ukraine. US earlier didn’t want to sell weapons for Ukraine, probably due to a mix of wanting to help Ukraine and thus give it, and also wanting to keep more control over what weapons and how they are used. With selling they theoretically can keep the same level of control, but realisitically the ‘beggars can’t be choosers’ holds up, and if you are buying something you can have some level of expectations.
