Conflating British Jews with the actions of Israeli Jews is by the IHRA definition, anti-semitic.

Politicians like Starmer who are making this claim about the Tel Aviv fans are being anti-semitic.

If people are cheerleading genocide and killing children, then they should not be allowed to a football game.

And that shouldn’t have to be spelled out.

They the same “fans” who caused a havoc in Amsterdam a few months back?

    3. Adm_Shelby2 on

Correct me if I am wrong but don’t the fans for this particular team have a bit of a reputation for being, lets say, unruly?

Edit: a bit unruly but no more than any other football club it seems.  Starmer has it right I think.

Plans to attack Israeli fans were subsequently shared through messaging apps with one chat calling for a “Jew hunt”.[4][11] After the match, Maccabi fans were ambushed and assaulted across the city centre, while a group of Maccabi fans around Damrak was recorded assaulting people and vandalising local property.[12

Yes it is wrong that this happened in Amsterdam in 2024 and now we ban them.

    5. Once again lefties, how do you thing normal working class people will perceive the ban verses Aston Villa Students Union Socialist ‘Workers’ Ultra Mega Woke Society members will perceive this.

If I was Nigel Farage I’d say “these lefties hate Jews just like the nazis your grandad was killing in WW2”

If you are mentally incapable of understanding this then look to what is happening in the US right now, if you don’t understand that then enjoy the Farage regime.

Edit: “Mummy mummy mummy the big bad bully boy is being logical, hit downvote”

Edit2: Get to grip with reality in the UK or face a Reform government, you have been warned.

Edit3: Downvote me all you like, I take them as a badge of honour and rationality

      Good.

It was bad enough a couple of seasons back when we played Legia Warsaw – I was there in the Holte End when they were lobbing bottles and other stuff into the stand from out on the street. Macabi fans will be a damn sight worse.

Starmer should invite the Maccabi fans round to his place to watch the match on the tv, see how that goes

    8. pikantnasuka on

This is a normal thing to happen when fans have behaved really badly in another match. Starmer is being very weird here.

    9. Keir Starmer officially defends and endorses known racist and violent football hooligan group, it turns out

Once again starmer bravley goes into battle for nothing.

Should maccabi be prevented from having fans there because they are Jewish? No.

But that’s not why the fans are barred. It’s as their game in Amsterdam lead to them marching through the streets chanting death to Arabs, picking fights, attacking people and having quite a nasty ultra’s contingent.

there was some antisemitism in Amsterdam, it was appalling, but that doesnt excuse their behavior.  If this was cancelled just because of risk of that, that would be shocking. But it’s not, it’s because of the fans behavior.

What does starmer want out of this? It’s obviously going to end badly so why stick his foot in it.

    11. Israelis and their victim complexes backed up and supported by successive British and American governments. Who would have expected it?

Why the fuck even involve yourself in this as PM? Jesus Christ, does he not have a comms director?

    13. sheslikebutter on

Why is his judgement so bad, so randomly? It’s crazy. He often rides the fence and then every now and then out of the blue he will come out on a cultural issue and just be totally out of step with public opinion.

I’m always reminded of when, in the middle of fence riding around several pretty poor political choices Boris Johnson had made, just randomly took a hard stance on euthanizing Geronimo the Alpaca.

    14. GamerGuyAlly on

Politicians shouldn’t get involved with sporting events.

    15. As a fan base they are known to be thugs and hooligans, causing violence and attacking other fans or people who are not of an ethnicity of their liking

its not about palestine, its about them being violent thugs, we place restrictions on UK thugs from travelling for games, its only right we stop them coming here from other places.

    16. arc4angel100 on

Israeli foreign minister Gideon Sa’ar called it a “shameful decision”.

He added: “I call on the UK authorities to reverse this coward decision!”

The blatant irony of this, I’ve never known the representatives of a country to be so collectively deluded and wilfully ignorant to reality.

He’ll comment on this shit but he has nothing to say when British citizens are pirated, taken hostage in international waters, and tortured?
