The way r/europe celebrates this is honestly disgusting.
A state fighting for its life (Ukraine) has thought it smart to conduct a violent act of sabotage against the infrastructure of its greatest European ally (€74 bn. in combined civilian and military aid delivered or earmarked, over a million refugees hosted) – a piece of infrastructure that might have been a mistake in the first place, but was already out of commission and unlikely to ever be used again – and everyone here *cheers*?! And hopes those who did it will never be punished, because a fellow EU member protects the perpetrators?
Talk about Ukraine biting the hand that feeds it …

Nice.
Germans must understand that so many in Europe have absolute no sympathy for Germany when it comes to issues related to NS2.

Suspects should definitely be extradited

And it’s not like he would have gotten a fair trial in Germany, the case would be purerly political.
As the judge said – if Germany wants to go to court they should settle it in interntional court with Ukraine, not one of its citizens who acted in the interest of his state and carried out an attack on infrastructure of invader state

I get why some are celebrating, but that’s simply not a good thing at all. It’s a bit funny also, how when the bombings occurred, people were so 100% sure it was Russia who did it, and it was a terrible thing. Now that it was an Ukrainian, it was actually a good thing.

Thank God for some common sense.Â
International geopolitics follows its own rule of law. Yes, blowing up a pipe is normally illegal. But so is funding a terrorist state, right?Â
I’d rather see folks make a few mistakes then become Russias useful idiot like AmericaÂ

hang on, were we not told this was definitely something the Russians did?

That’s a lie. The justification is that Germany didn’t provide necessary information, so the case was dismissed.Â
One of the earlier articles reported Germany provided a lackluster A4 of justification for extradition, and if anyone knows how Germans love their bureaucracy, its rather plain to see they don’t really want this man extradited but have to go through the motions.

Just imagine for a second what wouldve happened if a german spy blew up one of the polish gas pipelines and then germany acted like we did them a favor.
Holy shit, im quite sure we would see border closings and military getting involved, if only for show

One day they do this and the next day they demand reparations or EU defense funds.
