A good well planned contract doesn’t give the builder an opportunity to slap on extra costs for unplanned changes. Unfortunately, BAM has been asked to make many changes and are cheerfully charging a premium every time.

That building has to truck poo out because it doesn’t have a sewer system.

Fur coat and no nickers, not in the seedy way either.

      It was built by slaves.

OP, do you advocate using slave labour in Ireland?

We should have just made a gta 6 Dublin, then build the hospital with the return on sales

    5. Ontario is putting paediatric and obstetric wings on Mississauga Hospital, a suburban hospital in Toronto. The cost is €9 billion (CDN$14 billion).

Just did some math. If Burj Khalifa would be built today with Irish wages (not minimal ones, in the upper 50%) total cost of labour would be roughly €850 million. Total cost at today prices would be up to € 3.9bn.

So the Children Hospital is still a little cheaper.

In fairness you can’t compare a building built with cheap (almost slave) labor to a building built in one of the most expensive countries in Europe.

When are Irish people going to realise that they live in one of the richest societies in the world and that costs reflect that?
