There’s a rough path ahead. They still control the parliament, Erdoğan doesn’t give up easily, and even then, we still have disagreements with Greek Cypriots on what an appropriate reunification plan looks like.
But at least for this night, I will ignore the long road and celebrate.
EAT SHIT TATAR! EAT SHIT ERDOĞAN! PEACE IN CYPRUS SHALL NEVER BE STOPPED HAHAHAHA

A surprising, but satisfyingly beautiful result. Even though there’s still a long way to go, it offers hope that the occupation can be ended sometime in the future.

For what reunification? Another “Kanlı NOEL”?

Greeks were saying that Northern Cyprus is Turkey’s puppet. It seems it isn’t.

I don’t think there’s much to enlighten. Everyone and their mothers wants to join the EU for the free gibs. Türkiye couldn’t offer them the economy that they wanted and they are searching for alternatives, and one of them is the EU through Cyprus federation. IMO the most logical option for both Greece and Türkiye would be continuation of status quo or two state solution respectively, as the federation would be very volatile and unstable.

It was always the Greek side, that were against the reunification.

Pro reunification? I didn’t know that was a thing but like… What would that look like? The turks already colonized their parts. Why would greeks and turks want to unify?

I’m sorry just to understand: this guy wants the reunification for Cyprus to become its own, not reunite with turkey right?

I’m happy for Turkish Cypriots as a Turk myself! they saved themselves from the Erdogan threat.

Let’s get real, Türkiye has almost 100k soliders in the Northern Cyprus, nearly all of their Mediterrenian doctrine depends on NC. They won’t just leave and change all of their military plans, SC’s and Greek armies can’t force them either. There will be no unification in the near future. I hope for best for the both parties.
