Putin can warm the climate everywhere on Earth with his fossil fuels in order to exploit the resources of the Arctic and develop agriculture in Siberia, making agriculture and life impossible elsewhere on Earth. The exploitation of Arctic resources is becoming increasingly easy and essential from a military standpoint. Our future economy will be a war economy, and Western Europe should already admit defeat. Workers in the North will have a tough time not to serve army generals.

Tariffs for absolutely fucking everybody, even beyond the actual limits of his power to do that, are his one actual coherent political policy project that isn’t just insane grievance ranting. He’ll tariff an uninhabited island. But _somehow_ he’s absolutely protective of Russia exactly as if he’s more loyal to Russia than to America.
