      >“He put a gun to my head and he told me he would blow my brains out,” she told the Morris tribunal in March 2003 as she recounted the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband.

      Sweet jesus

I mean that is horrendous but the big question is why he was being honoured at all.

Not surprised that the former garda commissioner and Humphreys would award and commend someone like this. Orange tinted glasses and what not

“But Catherine Connolly represented de banks when she was a barrister!!! DE BANKS!!!!!!”

This is a smear against Heather by them boys at the ditch who are trying to conflate the actions of a minister at a photo op with the reason of the photo op.

    6. But as someone who avails of the service of the gardai, Catherine will need to explain her role in all of this!!

Surely, this is the end of the stuttering gobshite known as HH.

I wonder will this be picked up by other news outlets, like all the Connolly bit pieces are spewed out.

FG once again fail to not surprise me. Luckily Humphrey

Can The FG spin machine not blame this on Catherine Connolly somehow? I’m sure Ivan Yates has ideas.

      Smear…

Thung in cheek obviously but given raising another candidate meeting a war criminal is apparently a smear despite the photographic evidence then I don’t know why HH can use the same tactics here.

Ah but sure a bit of aul wife beating in no way diminishes the great lad

I’m honestly surprised that nobody has made a TV series based on the Morris Tribunal, something like The Shield that shows up the corrupt bastard guards in Donegal

Yeah this is yet another blow to Humphries.

The bigger issue IMO is why the Gardaí would present a Scott Medal (their highest honour) to someone so corrupt and odious.

Seems like the Gardaí haven’t made good character a part of the criteria for a Scott Medal

This goes way beyond HH, it goes to the core of how public/civil service operates

I don’t like either of the candidates, one “was too tired to continue in politics” HH, the other , CC obviously helped the banks repossess people homes (reminds me of Father Ted, the money was resting in my account) HH on the other hand on this occasion, id say (but don’t know!) if she was briefed on who that garda was and was guilty of when doing the presentation.
CC has learned the politicians gift of evasion. It is an art form, speak for ten minutes and say absolutely nothing.
They have been watching the old BBC Yes Minister!!
