As a sober person, I way prefer a regular pub that has a decent range of nonalcoholic options to this.

Tried in dublin and it failed. It will fail here too.
Niche food and drink places really struggle in Ireland. Is there a vegan place left?

And the drinks will cost as much as the alcoholic versions

Can’t fool me. They do not look like they are having fun.

The Marina market is a good fit for this. It’s not a standard pub situation, people go there for an afternoon with friends or family. If they get the price point relatively ok and keep a focus on having live music/entertainment there I think it’s a good shout. They have coffee places there and not everybody likes coffee.

This won’t last, if the one in Dublin is anything to go by.

I think too many pubs have pivoted to having a decent non-alcoholic offering for this to work as a stand alone option

Not serving alcohol is like not serving nonalcohol or not having food. Its a bug not a feature. People want choices people want to go out in mixed groups of friends

This isnt going to work, they did this in Dublin and it closed. I get it but your going in paying 15 quid for mocktail or some other weird over priced non alco beer. I cant see how a bar like this will work when patrons are only gona have 1 or 2 beers then leave.. They need people spending a lot more than that for this to work long term

As someone who once upon a time was sober, the truth is sober people stay home, they don’t go out for large social gatherings nearly as much, and when they do they’re going to dinner or sports events and the like. No one wants to sit around and drink ‘mocktails’ (very expensive fruit juices) that cost just as much as a vodka tonic and play board games for hours at a time. We know this because they don’t do it at starbucks already.

Like a wh!rehouse with no wh!res, I think they’re misunderstanding their key selling point.

Would they not just burn their money and save all the hassle?

Even if whatever drinks they serve are the most delicious drinks you will ever have in your life, how many of those can you really expect each customer to order in a night? Three maybe four at the most.

Like how is this place going to make any money?
