Unfortunate for the three involved but hopefully they can pursue BT for damages.
This stinks of a certain type of parasitic lawyer trying for an easy “here’s a few grand to fuck off, no admission of liability” from the Constabulary and biting off more than they could chew.
That’s insane. Life ruined over a literal crossed wire.
And if you’ve ever read The Secret Barrister you’ll know that this kind of thing happens all the time and the justice system is faaaar from foolproof. There are plenty of people in prison over crimes they didn’t commit.
No grounds for compensation. 🙄 They had their lives turned upside down. Disgraceful
I think it’s disgusting that this happened in 2016 and is only coming to light now, almost 10 years later.
