Why Finns blame immigrants for everything?

How is the passport status related to this?
Don’t listen to the dumbfucks. Immigrants are most welcome here.
Newspaper comments are, regardless of the country, always the worst trolls and angry old people you can find. Don’t base reality off them. Anti-immigrant sentiments are rising globally, mostly due to the increased economic hardship experience everywhere with quickly rising prices and bad job markets. Populists, propaganda bots, and right wing politicians are cashing in with anti-immigrant messages to score easy points with an easy to blame group of ‘outsiders’ in basically every society in the West right now.
Can you elaborate on what kind of hate speech?
I suspect there is much dissatisfaction for “failed” refugee policy and it trickles down to hatred towards all immigrants. It seems difficult for people also to understand scales and proportions too, so they make simple-minded conclusions out of individual incidents. You see this kind thinking even in mild statements like “we don’t need refugees”. really no one needs them but it is based on humanitarian aid and only shows that the person voicing this has no understanding of what they are actually criticizing. So in essence, people are short-sighted, fall under various cognitive biases and of course there are the racists too. There are many other factors that surely take place too, but I’d rather keep my answer somewhat short. The downside of stricter immigration policy is not only that we make the country less attractive for work based immigration but also make it less attractive by our general tax and labor policies. and as a consequence we lose local skilled workforce elsewhere too. So we flush the baby with the bathwater not once but twice. I can only hope for some better policies in the future.
