Who’d have thought never trying to sell yourself, but rather choosing to engage in the most negative campaign in recent Irish memory, while focusing all your attention on “woman does job” as a smear wouldn’t work?

Looks like Fine Gaels negative smear campaign has backfired and they’re going to get thumped at the ballot box, by a lot!

Every time Humphreys speaks it seems like 3 p.p. Increase in the polls for Connolly.
Maybe if she said nothing, there’d be a more even contest.

*Excluding Undecided Voters*
Connolly (IND-Left): 55.7% (+6.4)
Humphreys (FG): 31.6% (-2.6)
Gavin (FF): 12.7% (-3.8)
My expecation is Gavin underperforms this number and that both Connolly and Humphreys overperform as a result. Same material result.

Has anyone broke it to Fionann Shehan yet?.

Please DO NOT SPOIL VOTE JIM GAVIN.
Judging by the poll he’s almost at the threshold where FF would get their money back so it would just be rewarding them for running him.

I think the spoiled vote count could be quite high with this one.
People who i would not normally expect to do so, appear intent on spoiling their vote.
Probably going to be a low turnout.
The count should not take too long this time.

Get out and vote!

Could this be the first Irish Election that the majority centre-right Baby Boomer Generation’s chosen candidate (ie Humphries) gets beaten by Gen Z/Millinials chosen candidate (Connolly)
If so, it would be a seismic shift in Irish Politics.

I was amazed, and not amazed, to hear some talking head on RTE 1 this morning describing HH’s performance in the debate last night in positive terms. They must think we didn’t watch it or that we’re all thick as bricks.

If Mairead McGuinness had not been so unfortunate to be ill, do you think she could have won it?
I think she might have.
FG were very unlucky there.

Let’s be honest here. This sub Reddit is a very left leaning sub. If you have any opinions which are against CC or the left you get shot down here quite quickly
