We need satellite monitoring over land and sea with to monitor and automatically alert the authorities for illegal forestry, illegal fishing, etc. Planet labs does such work
My own thought on this is that the parties responsible should be forced to restore the land to it’s original state and all planning for work they are undertaking be frozen until this is done, all sales of properties related to their site suspended, or in the case of people who do it for views, they should have hoardings errected and charged to the party to make these attacks not worthwhile. They should also be fined heavily until the site is restored completely. They should also hold the directors of the companies responsible as well as the companies themselves. Urgent action is now needed as the frequency of these events is rapidly increasing.

They did it near me too. They knocked down a small forest of about 15 acres for houses , all old oak , horse chest nut , sycamore tress . Sad to see id say some of those trees were well over a 100 years old
