      Been a lot of emphasis on ceasefires lately, but it’s been said since the beginning that “freezing the conflict” plays into Russia’s hands. 

      Putin can just sit on his gains indefinitely, neither advancing nor giving anything up, until people get sick of the whole thing and just let him have the land.

      Essentially toothless. All the effected companies need do is to reduce Russian ownership to 49.9% and they don’t trigger the sanctions.

      Performative, not substantial.

      Finally Trump is sanctioning a country that isn’t supposed to be America’s friend. That’s a nice change, hopefully it lasts but it probably won’t.

      I prefer the Ukrainian sanctions of flying drones into their refineries

      You sure he didn’t mean tariffs? I can’t remember him actually using sanctions before. And if I remember correctly, those companies already have been sanctioned, by the Biden administration, unless he removed them just to put them back in and look like a big boy.

      But i could very well be wrong

      Is it really necessary to list out each refinery to be sanctioned? Why can’t we just stick to Russian oil or distilled products?
