In Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region, memorial plaques were unveiled on October 22, 2025, in honor of soldiers Viktor Semanyshyn and Oleksandr Chastokolskiy.
The memorial plaques were installed on the facade of Kalush Lyceum No. 3, where Viktor Semanyshyn and Oleksandr Chastokolskiy went to school.
Viktor Semanyshyn was born on June 20, 1984, and lived in Kalush.
After finishing school, he enrolled in the Lviv Veterinary Academy and later worked abroad.
On March 6, 2022, he voluntarily joined the State Special Transport Service. He later served in the 68th Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush in Donetsk region. Viktor Semanyshyn passed away from bilateral pneumonia on April 14, 2025.
Oleksandr Chastokolskiy was born on September 21, 1983.
On March 1, 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a telephone-line observer in the communications unit of the 109th Mountain Assault Battalion of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss.”
Oleksandr Chastokolskiy was killed near the village of Vesele in Donetsk region on January 23, 2024, during an artillery shelling of Ukrainian positions by the Russian army.
