Seems a reasonable sentence under the circumstances.
The case and his actions are horrendous and he needs to be removed from society for a very long time.

So he’s 35 now, meaning he would be 75/76 before he can even make a parole application. I can’t see him ever getting out.
A minimum of over 40 years is very rare, so it must have been relatively close to a whole life order.
If I was a member of the jury and saw him smile at us, my thought would be ‘oh thank god. I was worried I might had said guilty to a innocent man’
I found it interesting that the police said he’d committed almost the “perfect” murders. If he’d just left the house and got a flight back to South America right after killing them, there would have been almost no chance of building a case against him even if he had been identified as a suspect.
The mistake he made was trying to dispose of the bodies in an extremely risky way.

The two victims sounded like decent guys ,according to people sjo knew them.
