      Let’s not pretend that CDA is what’s needed though. Of course they are far preferable to PVV (or VVD under Yesilgoz) but they are still bigoted (their leader recently defended the right of Reformist schools to be homophobic) and not particularly supportive of European solutions to problems (hiding under the guise of “frugal”).

      I hope D66 and GL/PvdA end up bigger than them in the potential coalition.

      Politics can only be boring if it’s actually good at fixing the problems we have. I don’t want boring politics if our politicians can’t deliver.

      This sounds all nice, but didn’t try Keir Starmer something similar? He is boring, he is calm, he might even be decent enough, but for what price? I don’t need to list all the big things where Labour failed under him again.

      The more important point is this:

      All these leaders don’t fix the underlying problems only – and even that’s a big If – the symptoms. Populism and far-right bullshit all over the world show us that something is fundamentally broken. Starmer lurched to the right (Labour as the “party of business”) to be “normal” again. Yet the issues we have demand systemic changes that don’t come. Everyone who promises to keep the rocking ship steady again doesn’t see that we’re headed for the rocks for some time now.

      They could also try fixing the housing crisis, but that might reduce the property prices of middle-class homeowners, so it will never happen.

      this is the best way to not get elected.
      Politics should make you passionate. It affects the lives of everyone and is really important. Everyone should care deeply about it.
      Making it boring is irresponsible

      The CDA is so much better than the populist GL-PVDA and PVV.
