    1. I don’t think I’d ever feel secure working for one of these tech giants, their employees always seem to be a number that can be written off.

I was watching a YouTuber, an Amazon driver, whose dsp company is shutting down soon because of lesser demand.

This is going to be the trend unfortunately with any company that has a vested interest in AI. You can’t really monetize AI if you can’t sell it. It won’t be long before these companies are claiming that AI made the reductions in headcount possible.

Have a friend that works in a large multinational that reduced head count. They originally indicated that they over hired during COVID but now claim AI made the reduction in numbers possible. He said they have been instructed to use AI but it has not been a success, the department KPIs have increased by 20% to cover the headcount reduction while they also came to check the AIs work due to constant errors.

Rinse and repeat, this isn’t a new playbook. This has been happening in tech companies for decades. Outside of over hiring mistakes (i.e. covid) , company re-orgs or AI replacing human jobs – typically high performing employees rise to the top, whereas low performers are silently fired through redundancies/layoffs.
