Good call, why do the even need these buses connected to the internet when OTA update can just brick the whole bus if the update is broken. It’s not like they need new features added often. Should be the same principle not only for Chinese, but even Swedish or German buses.
The only legit use case I can imagine for this is that if the bus gets hijacked or stolen. I guess the question is if the bus company has access to this or if it’s just the manufacturer.
Software, that is bundled with hardware should be open source (not necessary free) by law …
Once China’s EV’s began to really take off and include cameras, they banned all Tesla’s from driving in certain cities that have a lot of military / CCP buildings.

The UK is investing heavily in Chinese EV buses. They turn up built in a box and off you go. Theoretically, what happens in a war with China and they decide to brick all buses? Its not just the buses, but the carnage of hundreds of buses just stopping.
Its far to late, its going to take decades to halt the slide away from doing anything for yourself.

Europe needs to get China out of its supply chains and Chinese products off our shelves. We need to stop allowing Chinese to buy land in Europe because foreigners cannot buy land in China etc. Start with reciprocity
Modern EVs are all software. Mercedes can remotely limit the top speed on your car, BMW can remotely deactivate your heated seats.
I would bet money that every EV manufacturer can remotely brick your car.
