Lol, if you think that the PRC will relinquish their rightful claims over Taiwan just because Russia might lose in Ukraine then I have a bridge to sell you…
If anything seeing how far we have depleted our stockpiles to “help” Ukraine, they might decide to forgoes the diplomatic avenue and seize this moment of weakness with a military action.
The idea that China is going to change their calculus on Taiwan, their primary foreign policy objective, with deep social resonance not only among Han nationalists, but among the CCP elite based on which colour the flags are in the Donbas is absurd.
This is one of the many logs of bullshit we keep throwing on the Ukraine fire in an attempt to close the interset gap.
Somehow when it comes to foreign policy, the Finns are the sanest people on the planet, while for most other aspects of life, they are complete nutters….
There is Ph. D dissertation material in anthropology in this.
Why are Europeans so full of themselves? What’s Taiwan or literally anything in Asia has got to do with Finland? And who do they think they are? You don’t hear about countries like Sri Lanka or Cambodia commenting on European affairs. Both countries have a much larger population than Finland by the way.
Tired of these kind of bs from Europe. They still believe they are in the colonial time when they can dictate how the world operates
Antti Häkkänen is completely in the right here, shame domestic policy is so bad.
Everything is saying this for the past 3+ years but some western politicians are blind – they want “peace” with ruzzia.
China isn’t just watching, they’re actively considering increasing support. Think about it for a second, why would China’s FM mention to Ukraine’s biggest backer, that they cant afford for Russia to lose? It’s basically them signaling that they want this conflict to end with Russia intact or else they might be forced to help like they did in the Korean war. Except this time would likely involve only weapons, not troops.
