Questo è un appello aperto a preservare e distribuire gratuitamente il tesoro di audiocassette che è stato creato come risultato dell’insegnamento obbligatorio dello svedese nelle scuole finlandesi. Deve essere reso disponibile a tutti i popoli del mondo!
Ho avuto questa rivelazione qui su Reddit un altro giorno, quando un ragazzo estone mi ha chiesto dove imparare la “finlandssvenska”; vuole impararlo per poter parlare Moomin con la sua ragazza e la sua famiglia di suofofoni della Finlandia meridionale. Apetta un minuto! Chi ha detto che non esistono quasi corsi o app specificatamente per imparare lo svedese finlandese? Cavolo sì, davvero ci sono vaste risorse pedagogiche! Devi solo trovarli.
Dalla seconda media in poi, durante tutta la scuola finlandese, ascoltavamo un’audiocassetta per ogni capitolo del nostro libro di testo svedese. Quasi tutti i capitoli erano ambientati in Finlandia e i narratori/doppiatori erano finlandesi di lingua svedese. Ogni editore aveva la propria serie concorrente di libri di testo con audiocassette e libri di esercizi, che distribuiva alle scuole. Ah, c’era anche un meraviglioso glossario per ogni capitolo!
Un singolo studente dovrebbe in qualche modo essere in grado di ottenere tali materiali didattici da qualche parte. Cumuli di högsvenska in attesa del mondo. All’epoca questi nastri non erano nemmeno cassette, ma enormi bobine, ancora all’inizio degli anni ’90. Immagino che ad un certo punto siano stati sostituiti dai CD e poi dai file audio.

What has happened to all this audio material? Is it still protected by copyright? I hope not. It shouldn’t be. The publishing houses were shovelling taxpayer money with those tapes. Now they should give them back to Finland and to the world, or, at least, sell the rights for a reasonably low price. Pohjola-Norden, Nätverket Svenskanu.fi, and so on, should be interested in getting the material released.
I used to think that there was something wrong with the curricula in our schools. Lots of skilled teachers, but very few pupils learned Swedish, actually. No no! I was completely wrong. Or, I mean, in reality we had luxurious pedagogical stuff. It was just that most students were not motivated.

Now the situation has changed. Due to KAJ (and due to bunches of other good reasons), there is an urge for finlanssvenska everywhere. Well, these tapes are mostly högsvenska (Moomin Swedish), maybe with a little taste sample of some exotic dialect occasionally. But anyway—the time has come! We Finns should not be shy about this. The Swedish language is an inseparable part of our cultural heritage. It is also our other national language. If we want to teach the world to speak Swedish the Moomin, the Närpes, or the Sibbo way, we do it. No need to excuse or ask for permit. The Swedish pitch accent is overrated. I mean, it has nothing to do with intelligibility. Everyone in the world who wants to or has to learn Swedish by any reason, is allowed to pick up Finland Swedish as well as a Sveamamma variant.
More importantly, “Summer on the rocks” better make it to all the studentnationerna’s repertoire
i remember max 10 swedish words from studying it for 5 years in school. and i’ve never needed any swedish since i finished school
I remember this. That song did not even have a backing track, the voice actor just adlibbed it and yes, it was gringeworthy even in the 90ies.
