Interesting. I had coincidentally explained this to my daughter today when she told me that she was sick of Catholicism.
Luther didn’t just challenge the church, he challenged how people thought about truth itself
Thankfully, much more popular than some of his other stuff, like that thing he wrote about the Jews that one time.
Regardless of what Catholics believe about his him, he rightfully stood up against the selling of indulgences. And he actually still held many beliefs that aren’t too far from Catholics, such as on the Eucharist. But he was antisemitc too so
