The article isn’t particularly specific, but it seems the guy runs an OnlyFans because the 16k grant he gets doesn’t pay the bills. Its not clear why they’ve banned him, either his OnlyFans or perhaps other posts promoting it, but they’ve banned him from competing or even chatting to his team mates based on some rule that sounds like it was written in the 1920s (“indecent, offensive or immoral behaviour”).
As someone who was semi-pro back in a thing that paid jack shit in my youth and had to give it up because of money, I really feel for this guy. Would be nice if he was re-instated and somehow the pearl clutchers lose this one.
He’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do the sport he loves and not be paid enough to enable him to pursue his dream so have to turn to other income streams or give it up and do what he likes.
