Voli di deportazione illegali dell’ICE statunitense che fanno rifornimento all’aeroporto di Shannon: il dipartimento di Simon Harris guarda dall’altra parte
American here living in the UK, moving to Ireland in April. what ICE is doing in the US in a lot of cases is massively illegal due to American laws, such as the 1st and 4th Ammendments, and i hope they have a day of reckoning. That being said:
Notice how every time they say illegal they have to put it in quotes? Thats because its not illegal, they are using the term to illicit an emotional and adverse reaction.
There is nothing illegal about these flights from a TECHNICAL standpoint. Could the Irish government take a moral stand against this? YES, is it worth the pain and suffering of the Irish people that could be brought on by denying Mango Mussalini? Probably not. Unfortunately boys and girls, in the real world you ahve to pick and chose your fights, especially when you ahve to punch up.

There is absolutely no way ice should be aloowed to set foot In this country, they’re the modern day brown shirts.

Ah here. Ireland cannot be responsible for policing the immigration services of another country. These flights are “illegal” according to US domestic law – per the lawyers of those being deported – not illegal per international law or Irish law. We’ve no business engaging with those aircraft and it’s a bit much to expect that we would.

No issue with deporting people if there are reasons to do so, but deporting someone to a country they have never lived in, never mind been to, and have no ties with, nor are they a citizen of that country, is absolutely fucked.
Doubly so if those countries have a record of human rights abuses.

Shannon is a US base. We pretend it isn’t for political sensitivity reasons, but that’s what it is. On US DOD maps it appears as a key operational hub. As for ICE and illegal deportation flights, there’s a tug of war going on between executive and judicial power. Activists bring cases to sympathetic judges, who are throwing up roadblocks, the Trump admin is bulldozing through them, it is a political game that degrades the integrity of their state and we should stay out of it. That said, our airports and airspace are used by many, many states where the rule of law is flimsy or nonexistent. It would absolutely be a tremendous unforced error for Ireland to intervene with a US government flight on the basis of a US court ruling. US law is none of our business, it is their business.

I love the way the quotes around “illegal” have been removed by OP. There is nothing illegal about this flight landing here which is why the ditch are using a quote to imply otherwise.
The actions of the US are morally wrong but of course the ditch resort to all but lying to bash the government.

Slithery Simon always looks the other way, he’ll be talking out the other side of his mouth when it’s Irish ppl landing in Shannon having been deported.

I must have missed the American courts declaring ICE unlawful.

Presumably these are “illegal” in terms of US law, rather than international law.
If that’s the case then I don’t think this is a very big story.

I say let them refuel but tax the ever loving shit out of them on fuel and anything else. Make it a money maker and put that into housing. They can either pay or get fucked then

Fuck ICE. We should have no part in helping a present day gestapo.
Utterly pathetic. No one is surprised tho, Simon Harris is such a spineless little shit. Cunt is beyond useless

So deportation flights must be stopped? Which political parties think that? https://www.thejournal.ie/deportation-figures-2025-georgia-6864007-Nov2025/
