The French government has said it will block Shein from operating in the country after childlike sex dolls and a large number of weapons were found for sale on the retailer’s online marketplace.
On Wednesday the government said it was ‘initiating the suspension of Shein for the time necessary for the platform to demonstrate to the authorities that all of its content is finally compliant with our laws and regulations’.
The move to ban Shein came on the day the China-founded company opened its first permanent store in Paris and amid a growing backlash against the platform, which politicians have branded an aggressive, low-cost competitor that threatens domestic rivals.
The large scale exploitation of people and resources and the horrendous damage to the environment was perfectly fine for them though…

France, the country that released Cuties into the world (sexualized real life little girls) is mad about sex dolls.

If you want to ban it, just do it. Don’t even have to make up excuses, or maybe you can use “National Security” which is at least better than “weapons”…

I wanted to clarify that **Sex and Doll** and Weapons are now banned in France.😊

What are these weapons? Probably just sharp pointy things and maybe tasers?
The French put on the best protests even without easy online access to weapons, so maybe they don’t need that…

Good that they are going to ban this crap, but I’ve read that the same stuff has been sold on Amazon and eBay. Why this campaign against only Shein, and never any complaints against Amazon?

The sex dolls are a scapegoat, the government has been trying to ban these Chinese companies for a while now and this scandal gave them the perfect opportunity to do so. In 2021, France had banned Wish as well, before lifting the ban in 2023.
Because of Shein and Temu’s boom during covid, half of the french retailers have gone out of business as they were already struggling to recover from COVID.
Don’t get me wrong tho, I support this decision as I hate Shein.

Good! No need for that crap.
