      Fantastic news.

And I’m not someone who believes in “lock em up and throw away the key etc”. Not at all.

But the sentence given was absolutely ridiculous. Makes no sense giving concurrent sentences for different crimes, defeats the whole purpose of them.

Judges should be reprimanded when they make decisions like that, that are _completely_ out of line.

Absolutely delighted, I know it doesn’t bring him back to his family but they must get some relief knowing that scumbag is in jail for a long time. When the prick realised he had run over the poor fella, he joked to his friends about it. There is something wrong with him, absolutely no remorse.

Delighted. Some measure of justice for this poor lad. Hope the little scumbag rots. Way too many wannabe hard men like him around Limerick who should be locked up still roaming the streets.

    4. I thought that was an illogical use of concurrent sentencing at the time. Good to see it was indeed invalid.

“He is also disqualified from driving for 20 years upon his release. The driving ban will begin after his release from prison.”

Out of curiosity, I presume at that stage he’ll have to go through the whole licensing process again? Or can you renew your license while you’re locked up?

If actually driving is still a thing by then of course.
