Polish politics never sleeps just takes espresso shots and throws curveballs every election cycle.

    2. Thisissocomplicated on

Democracies at risk because stupid people breed.

I am so fucking tired and cynical about human beings seeing how easily people are committed to ruining themselves. I wouldn’t give a shit but unfortunately it affects me.

I thought of all the countries in Europe, Poland would be most resistant to the Russophilic variety of right-wing populism… guess even there, they are starting to breakthrough. Hopefully it will split the existing right wing vote.

Some people want to show off their evil. So they support Putin and Russia.

    5. Lopsided-Farm4122 on

You can find this many stupid people in any country on the planet. In Canada more than 1/10th of the population wants to be annexed by the US and the number is closer to 20% if you count those who would consider it.

    6. At least the leftists are gone. Lewica and Razem with persons like Anna Maria Żukowska shows perfectly their incompetence.

    7. Consistent_Catch9917 on

The 10 % is the least of your problems, isn’t it. Right wing parties at over 50 %

    8. fianthewolf on

Well, Tusk (even though I like him) is annoying him since P&S and Kondeferacha are allies.

    9. DemoN_M4U on

It’s almost 27%. Konfederacja and Korona are one and the same, they are divided to get more votes from center.

    10. Fatalist_m on

I’d say Konfederacja, which has 16% is also effectively pro-Russia(like most far-right parties). Similar to how MAGA people said that they did not support either Russia or Ukraine, which resulted in the massive reduction in support to Ukraine from the US – a great result for Russia.

      [Poland’s Far-Right Advances on Anti-Ukraine Sentiment](https://cepa.org/article/polands-far-right-advances-on-anti-ukraine-sentiment/)

Russians and pro-Russia forces have a lot of influence on the worldwide conservative propaganda and that works even in historically anti-Russian countries.

    11. Democracy in the age of internet and social media is so easily manipulated it’s insane. Most people aren’t able to filter all the disinformation and end up at best voting based on fake nonsense and biased reporting and at worst completely losing touch with reality.

    12. Are they really pro russian, or some of the things they want, happen to benefit Russia?

For example, just because a party wants to leave the EU or NATO, does not automatically mean that they like Russia (but it does mean they are stupid). They might consider infringement on sovereignty to be too much and want it to stop. I do not consider this reason to be good enough, but it is an argument different from “because we want to be Russian federation republic”.

If they want to trade with Russia, then that also doesn’t necessarily mean they like them. It is, after all, true that not only the Russian economy got affected by the sanctions, tho of course impact on them was far greater than on most others, unless a country was highly dependent on them (like Transnistria, to some degree Hungary and Slovakia).

If they want support for Ukraine to stop, then it could mean they simply want to invest that money into their own economy. It might be shortsighted, but being populist or not thinking ahead does not equate love for Russia.

What happens to NATO in circumstances where pro-Russian parties get in via the vote? The united front would melt away

    14. lost-associat on

So what’s his retoric regarding nato obligations and eu integration. How fucked are we? Sincerely, a fellow worried EU citizen.

I feel like us Brits need to start referring to Reform as our pro-Russia party

    16. IshTheFace on

Imagine looking at Russia and saying to yourself “Yep, that’s how I want my country to be run”.

Edit/ I saw a Swedish propagandist say that our Prime Minister was a dictator. I don’t know how you do that with a straight face when supporting Russia. Truly mind boggling.

    17. AverellCZ on

Let Slovakia and Czech Republic be a warning for you. I yelled for two years that Czechs will elect a pro Russian government, ppl told me it won’t be so bad and look where we are now.

    18. LeadingOven2446 on

This is coming from CBOS, the most unreliable polling agency in Poland. I would take that with a grain of salt. Their polls are very often wildly off the mark. The more accurate result would be around 5-6%, as shown in other polls and also in the last presidential election result.

    19. Super_Chef5509 on

They are not really that pro-russian, they just don’t support entirely Ukraine. It’s reddit, of course everything here is going to be a hyperbole for no reason.

Don’t let politics ruin your day, because redditors want to have a sensation. Have a good day, and let’s hope Russia will stop with aggression.
