The BBC didn’t help themselves with the unnecessary editing of the Jan 6th speech, but I trust them a hell of a lot more than anything the Cheeto supporters come out with.

Anyone in these comments taking the side of Trump’s secretary here, in any way, book them as Russian bots. Guarantee it.

The bbc is a bit shit, as is most media. But compared to US media it’s giving fantastic. Fuck this stupid woman and her stupid country.

If the BBC report this quote, does it mean it’s true or false?

At this point that’s a compliment… if the Trump administration has something negatives to say about you then you’re doing something right

The BBC is like the NHS, a terrible broken system leagues ahead of what most other countries have.

100% is a bit extreme but considering the BBC’s truth division is set up by someone who’s job is to spin certain narratives and that Panorama even exists, then it’s definitely not 0%.

bbc news is not fake news no matter how you look at them or whether you agree with them or not.
they may have slight political leanings on certain subjects but no one is immune to impartiality and they try their best, the recent flak they’ve received was from panorama, a tv show broadcast via the BBC, but isn’t BBC news.

HIGNFY covered this very succinctly last night.
As the host put it (I’m paraphrasing) “if Trump is calling for insurrection you don’t need to edit it”
The BBC got caught up in the excitement of the day and hyped up something that spoke for itself.

Considering how bbc handled the panorama story and got outed for faking the video. Reasonable to say they’re fake news

I like how this has outraged the media here and in the US, and yet when the Corbyn interview with Kuenssberg was edited in a far worse way (to take his answer to one question and replace it with an answer he gave to another question, to make it seem he was soft on terrorism after the Paris attack) all these same commentators were absolutely fine with it.

BBC has nothing to apologise for. Trump called for an insurrection when he organised and attended a march on the Capitol on the day of the electoral college vote, told his fans they have been robbed by crooks and needed to fight like hell. The evidence is abundant and if US politics had any care for democracy they’d have put him and his accomplices in prison.

At least it doesn’t look like a game show designed to enrage people like American channels.

I mean, verifiably they manipulated a video of Donald Trump to give a dishonest impression of what he actually said. So yeah, she’s right.

The BBC should display this as a badge of honour. The best possible confirmation of their accuracy and impartiality is this lying grifter calling them fake news. Lovely stuff.

The way to tell the BBC isn’t fake news:
*Constant scrutiny from both left AND right on the political spectrum accused of being the other. Very much centre if taken as an average.
* Regular reviews and apologies. You may think this means consistent mistakes, but they make no more than any other. They actually acknowledge it and try to improve.
The absolutely fake Right wing American press do neither of the above.

It wasn’t until 2008 when a situation I was DIRECTLY involved with was in the news. By fuck, do they twist the hell out of a story to fit a narrative. I wouldn’t trust ANY news agency, ANY newspaper or ANY journalist. And you know what? That’s why you have crackpot conspiracy theorists. Because Nothing makes sense anymore.
