      All it takes to resolve the issue is a single executive order to allow defense manufacturers to trade without DoD involvement. This almost feels intentional.

      This is much more serious for the USA than not following through on donations.

      NATO allies, under some pressure, signed contracts to PURCHASE these weapons. This is a breach of contract, the initial impact is loss of good-will in negotiations… as allies adapt to the delays the USA loses leverage. If an ally gets upset they might go to court especially if they sense weakness.

      Long term this is obviously a catastrophy. I wouldn’t be surprised if allies start demanding blueprints. As an example… the Dutch government has the source code to Microsoft Office in a vault. In case of service disruption threatening the functioning of the government they can access the source code to make a version that ensures continuity of government services.
