      The joke’s on them….most humans don’t live past 90.

Either the guy’s a vampire or Erdogan’s dictatorship is getting cartoonishly evil.

Chill, he’ll get 700 hundred years of house arrest at worst, and they’ll let him out on parole after 220 years.

Do you want Power Rangers villains? Because this is how you get Power Rangers villains

Such sentences are unfortunately given to not allow the convict to get out early with parole. If this was just sentenced as life imprisonment there is a parole in about 20 years and the convict can be free if they were in their best behaviour…of course an ex-contractor turned politician won’t cause trouble in a fucking prison.

Either way if AKP government eventually falls neither type of sentence will mean shit as there has been 100+ year sentences before this specific one were cancelled when proven to be bullshit. It did happen around late 2000s when Kemalist military staff including the commander of Turkish army were sentenced of 800-something years and many of them now roam free although no longer being in the military.

Wth did he do? I mean, there had to be hard evidences against him to justify this result. You won’t get 2000 years for nothing, right?

We must lock him away in suspended animation, so that he may be judged for his crimes by future generations.

There’s no point in giving someone 20,000 years in prison if, by law, in many countries the limit is 15–23 years — and what’s even crazier is that *“if you behave well in prison, they take years off your sentence for good behavior.”*

Clear sign arrogant knows he’s is done – jailing opposition for 2000 years just screams petty despot clinging on to power

About what Erdogan will get when he is defenestrated. Unless he escapes to Russia like all the other ousted dictators…

…though the sentence may come down somewhat on appeal.

Turkey has reached the point where violence may be the only solution to stop Erdogan. He is literally jailing the attorneys *of the attorneys* of opposition candidates! 100 years ago the Turks threw off imperialism and islamism, and they must do so again if they want Ataturk’s legacy to survive

    13. And EU wants to pour Billions to Turkey through Security Action for Europe (SAFE) program. Unbelievable stuff.

And? It’s very doable. I remember when Diocletian, that b itch, put me in jail for 1500, because I was a Christian and then I couldn’t get out on time because the ottomans were still around. I resurfaced in 1878 and here I am, so I cannot see what is the problem for Imamoglu.

    15. Current turkish administration fears of losing power and so they put everybody into jail who is probably a political danger. Obviously this is not corresponding to normal turkish right, Erdogan is bending it.
