      I have no problem with it, as long as Spain is single-handedly paying for the translation of all EU documents in Catalan, as well as the payroll of new Catalan translators.

      What’s next? Galician? Basque? Sorbian? Karelian?

      I’m from Spain, I also speak a regional language (not Catalan) and I find this bollocks… it’s all about wasting money which in this strained economy should go to solving real problems, like unaffordable housing, job insecurity, or underfunded public healthcare. Catalan, Galician or Basque are not official languages in all of Spain; only co-official in their respective regions.

      11 million people speak Catalan.
       This is about the same as the entire population of Sweden, or Finland + the Baltic countries.
      This is a large group of people, not a little , as some commentators said on this sub.
