I’m in favor of relaxing the War Materiel, but fuck the SVP.

With the current laws the Swiss defence sector is doomed unless Switzerland decides to buy everything domestically (which it won’t). So changing the law is a step in the right direction.
Why would a country buy Swiss arms if it knows supplies will be restricted once a war breaks out. Sure dome may argue weapons are a deterrent, but in an increasingly hostile world a smart actor would also want to make m sure that you can actually use and maintain your arms during a prolonged period.

Yeah, Vlad would be upset and would not love them anymore.

Since the Kremlin has been buying right-wing politicians across Europe I wouldn’t be surprised if half of the SVP is already on the payroll. Ukraine is literally the only case at this moment where we desperately need to relax the rules for export. I remember when we introduced the ban that all the talk was about weapons going into acttive conflicts in the middle east, so it made sense at the time.

OP, not sure what you used to translate the title, but the correct word is [Materiel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Materiel), not Material 🙂
