When people let you know who they are, believe them.
This was a feature of Ms Jones, not a slip.
She made the comment as a Conservative two years before joining Reform. Did the Tories not investigate her? Did Reform take her on knowing about the comment? There isn’t much information here.
It’s such an archaic, nasty slur that it’s hard to imagine someone that age saying it shamelessly and without at least cringing. Yet these people do exist.
No one is allowed to say that Reform is a party for racists yet every time this happens (and it happens all the time) it never dents their popularity, if anything it increases. Why do people think that is?
I wonder if that racial slur was an intentional performative act to trigger a ban by the Senedd, thus attracting significant publicity for her and Reform U.K. in Wales…. It’s not as if Reform U.K. hasn’t gained a reputation for performative acts to stir the pot of controversy and toxic division to attract extensive publicity and promotion….
