Reading the article made my blood absolutely boil. There were so many opportunities to save this poor little girl, all missed because those responsible for looking out for her were incompetent or couldn’t be bothered.
I genuinely don’t know none of them have breached any legal responsibility here.
I also can’t understand how a child who is known to have suffered previous neglect and abuse can just be taken out of school with no effort at safeguarding or checks on her welfare at all. How on earth is that OK?

What a wretched, wicked tragedy. A young girl born to a Polish mother with learning difficulties, a woman simply not equipped for the brutal business of protecting a child form a violent monster.
And then there was the father and stepmother, those two supposed caretakers, who, according to the court that convicted them, treated that small, fragile child as though she were no more than a receptacle for their rages. Blow after blow until her tiny body finally gave out. In the end they fled, leaving her behind, hidden under rubbish, as though the shame could be covered as easily as the evidence, her broken little form abandoned in a squalid bedroom for strangers to find.
And what of the system, the adults, the watchers on the sidelines?
The grim list of missed chances to save her is almost as grotesque as the injuries catalogued by the forensic examiners.
Another depressing circus of missed opportunities and selective vision on the part of protective services. So heartbreaking.

Typical third grade council, overpaid, under worked, incompetent!!

Another victim, another case of council having failed, more that should be investigated and later given a day in court.

I am no expert on social care but it really seems like councils should not be in charge of anything to do with child or elderly or disabled welfare. There needs to be a national-level system where standards, procedures, and training are set.
This is not intended as an insult. It is just a reality is that the majority of councils are simply not made up of people who understand the issues or who even care about the kind of people affected.

I didn’t honestly think this case could get more heartbreaking, yet here we are.

There has been another scandle in the Rotherham grooming gangs where one of the victims had a social worker attend her wedding to an old asian man, she was 15 years old! and the social worker thought this was ok and attended and encouraged the underage marriage to an old man to happen.
That man was found to also be an Asian Muslim man himself.
These lazy and useless council and social workers were groomed and put off the scent by Sara’s father.
A lot of social/ council workers are immigrants who are highly uneducated and would be fired from other jobs quickly for general incompetence and dumb decisions, and they often have what we in the West would consider peverse morals and values who not only have a low bar for abuse but are also genuinely very very thick and easily led. They are also very lazy and useless at their jobs, I have read of a lot of accounts of people being utterly let down by them… vulnerable and disabled people especially. And in this case, a child.
I am sure there were plenty of English social workers involved too who were utterly shit but I would bet my bottom dollar most were of a similar background to Sara and dumb as owt. They are less likely to question things as a result.

Every time something tragic happens there’s always something ridiculous behind it. Every single time

Just for once I want the authorities to actually learn lessons, not talk about learning them.
