CIAO,

I’ve seen similar posts and it sounds like a scam. I assume they’ll send a payment confirmation screenshot but you won’t receive the money bc the image is faked or some other shady thing.
whatsapp and engagement farming -> scam.
Next they will say how the payment somehow failed, send you a link or tell you they have a different courier and will deposit the money with them or something like this.
The money will not arrive, get cancelled…
Better to stay on Ricardo to discuss Details.
Jup
dfenetly a scm, if he really bought from you on Ricardo, you’d have received a info from Ricardo itself, and he also woudl have received one that he purchased. so the whole question is shady an defenetly a scam. ignore him
Never leave the platform, it’s a scam.
did they send you a link to log in to your TWINT? if yes, check your account, if you didn’t get robbed.
Yes. While there are legit reasons people want to do it outside the platform, to avoid the insane fees one example, I would not get into that. If someone bought it, bid and won, they are bound to buy and pay. Ricardo often bans buyers that did it more than once.
Only do so with buyers/seller that had honest transactions with you in the past 😉
If I am unsure if it’s a scam, I just ask them to pick it up and pay in cash. Otherwise no deal.
I only accept bank transfers or payment in person in cash. No Twint, no PayPal or any other method of payment.
It can happen that someone “pays” and you send the item. Then they file a complaint with Twint/PayPal and they most likely get the money back.
Alternatively, they send you way to much money and as a good person you immediately return the amount, they file a complaint and they’re getting the money back….
If you get the money i’d say no scam
But the communication feels off; you can’t sell if you don’t have the item etc.
To move the communication off the app is a red flag too
What means if payment did you agree on?
—> if theres sudden problems, inconveniences, portals, buying of vouchers, couriers or anything fishy involved it’s a scam
So far i’m 60/40 it’s legit
if they send you a link from post or something where you can put in information to get the payment, which includes the shipping, its a scam.
i got one message like that once. the post office does not offer security payments for private selling/buying.
send them your info where to send money, if the money does not arrive you do not give the item. dont accept or click any links whatsoever.
and even better, for future references keep the conversation on the platform, platforms like tutti probably have some safeguards that will give you warnings about weird links if they send it through the website. thats why they want to switch to WhatsApp, there really is no need to change to whatsapp to sell something. youre just giving them more private information (like telephone number) about yourself.
Scam of somebody that doesn’t know Ricardo. Its not a is-it-still-available-plattform. It’s just sell and buy. Clicking on a buy Button is legally binding. So the question is stupid.
The common Scam is that you will receive a link or QR code to claim the payment. On the linked website it will ask for your ebanking credentials, which allows to take over your twint account or worse.
If you request the money by Twint, then there is no need to click on any link or to scan something.
