The only rule of dealing with Trump, is that any way that Trump can benefit, will benefit you. If you can cut Trump in on your “deal”, your deal will be approved.

Trump is so easy to read. I’ve had a discussion with my Swiss colleagues about this exact scenario after the tariffs were implemented and we all agreeed that it would take a special gold Rolex watch to fix the issue. It’s so funny that this was 100% spot on.

« Priceless clock » holy hyperbole there. The Submariner desk clock is sold around 8k chf.
So it’s an expensive piece of crap, but if that’s what it takes to bride to president of the us, I’m flying there right now with some ideas
Isch das wohr? Es würd mi nid mol wunderä (höchstens dass denn niemer friener druf cho wär wo nöcher dra isch). Es wär lustig wärs nid so druurig.

I wonder if people know that all gifts received by a sitting president remain property of the people of USA. This is also why Hillary Clinton was ordered to return several gifts she had taken with her, given to the Clintons during the Clinton administration. Even if they’re bespoke gifts, they don’t have the right to keep them and will be ordered by court to return them.

Ehm… the rolex probably helped. Making Switzerland a de facto Commonwealth state of the US if they follow all their demands for lowering the tariffs might have helped too…

Are those “gifts” tax deductible?
I believed it was a watch + a gold bar
