      Ballydonegan Strand, Alihees, West Cork. Formed from ground up ore washed down from the 19th century coppermines in the hills above the town. You can tell its not natural the sand is very course. Stunning spot.

      Ballast Bank was accidentally formed from ships dumping sediment that built up in their boats before mooring in Wexford harbour.

      A crack appeared across Ballycastle Co. Antrim in the 17th Century & slowly but surely a five mile long piece of land drifted into the sea to become the famous Rathlin Island.
