Con la Russia che sta lanciando enormi forze a Pokrovsk per catturare finalmente la città mineraria di carbone orientale, sorgono domande su cosa accadrà dopo e se l’Ucraina è pronta.
Dopo aver catturato ciò che resta di Pokrovsk, le truppe russe probabilmente si spingerebbero verso la città di Dobropillia a nord, secondo Pasi Paroinen, analista dell’organizzazione di analisi open source Black Bird Group con sede in Finlandia.
Paroinen ha detto che mentre la Russia probabilmente cercherà anche di avanzare più in profondità nell’adiacente Oblast di Dnipropetrovsk verso la città di Mezhova a ovest, il suo obiettivo principale rimarrebbe nell’Oblast di Donetsk. Crede che le truppe russe cercheranno di riconquistare le aree a est di Dobropillia che occuparono durante la breccia di agosto ma che persero a causa dei contrattacchi ucraini.

Ive been listening to a lot of pocasts on Ukraine, like Ukraine the latest, but never actually watched a visual overview of the area. This is insightful, thanks.

Fall of Pokrovsk woyld mean only one thing. West still failing to provide enough support to Ukraine to deprive Russia of ability to conduct offensive operations.
Here’s a take –
I don’t think Russia has the material equipment to try and push Dnipro, at least not for long. I expect they will try and consolidate the Donbas & any cost while “casually” trying to move the line near Zaporizhia & Sumy to split Ukrainian troops up to make it easier to consolidate the Donbas.
Putin’s war chest is almost entirely spent. He’s got less than a year to wrap this up before it really starts hurting the Russians in Moscow & St Petersburg, who will be turning on him as their grocery bills really start growing, (which is about to happen with the new grocery taxes they’re rolling out).
Russia is unbelievably close to collapsing like the Soviet Union did in the 80s, ultimately failing completely in ‘91.
