I’ll never understand why football players get involved with either property based ventures or family members. Never mind both.

No one knew what he was up to after retirement for a few years, now we know!

Poor business decision at the end of the day.

What a player he was, this is sad to hear. Up there with Irwin, Coleman and Carr in the conversation as being the best Irish fullback of all time.

Mr Justice Mellor, lovely cushioned header…

That whole article reads like someone who has been badly advised his whole life.
Here’s hoping he won’t have to pawn his Istanbul medal whatever happens.

Ah sh1t, Finnan always came across as a good guy.
Not nice to see, irrespective of the rabbit hole he’s found himself in.

“Representing himself, he argued that…”
Never a good sign.
If he’s arguing over £50k legal fees he really must be up Shit Creek.

I’ll save you from the annoying clickbait title: it’s Steve Finnan
He set up a property business with his brother, which went wrong. He sued his brother, and now he’s wasted all his money on legal fees

A terribly common story. If these lads sat on their earnings and lived off them, rather than trying to double everything with the help of their layabout family members, they’d have much easier lives.
Just buy a few properties and rent them out, you’ll be pretty safe.

For anyone surprised by this I recommend watching [broke – 30 for 30](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2181824/) it’s scary how quick pro athletes lose it all.

He looks like Jamie Carragher. Maybe he can trick a foreign broadcast company and get some TV work.
