Is this not already the vast majority of Asylum cases?

This has to happen in advance.
The last huge spike of migration we got was because of the discussion about the Rwanda plan, which everyone can remember was never actually implemented.

Hilarious. They’re all using NI as a backdoor. Nobody checks your ID on the ferry. Straight through and 9n a bus to Dublin. Its a joke.

What a terrible view. I would be working to ensure we are viewed more favourably than the UK. There’s no need for us to stoop to their level.

Ireland is going to be the last country in Europe to crack down on the absurd asylum system. A process that was supposed to apply to individuals who were at risk from particularly odious regimes due to their political views now applies to entire countries and hundreds of millions of people. It is completely unsustainable and has destroyed the left across Europe. When famously liberal places like Finland, Denmark and Sweden have severely restricted the practise you know it has gone too far.

God forbid we might think ahead and preemptively do something.
Stop kicking the can down the road and take some strong action otherwise rightwing parties are going the gain more traction and popularity.
I’ve lived in Denmark for 4 years, it’s entirely possible to have a social democratic government that is strict on emigration. That’s not to it’s perfect but the far right here have less of a pull than we are seeing in Ireland or UK.

The obvious solution is a hard border for people between the British island and the island of Ireland.

Yet another problem caused by the UK hanging onto NI. Be interesting to see all these shenanigans get resolved when we get NI back.
