I think the answer is actually very simple:

Greece has been a consistently reliable ally for the United States (to put it nicely) and, more importantly, maintains strong ties with Israel. From Washington’s perspective, Greece doesn’t create unpredictable geopolitical problems like Turkey.

Turkey, on the other hand, is a complete wildcard. Any large-scale energy project routed through Turkey would almost certainly be used as political leverage, or to funnel influence and money toward actors openly hostile to U.S. interests. And Turkey’s stance toward Israel isn’t the progressive criticism you see in Europe; it’s focused on Erdoğan’s neo-Ottoman agenda, which obviously doesn’t sit well with the U.S., or with the American/Jewish lobby.
