I’m curious how this works for the average member of the Gardai.
Could you have a holiday to the Canaries booked with your family well in advance and management just say no dice, you’re staying here?
Are you compensated by your employer in that situation?

He’s no fool – great photo op – the amount of money spent on Ukraine is unreal – most of us couldn’t have found it on a map a few years ago
Don’t think we should be sparing any expense here, hopefully we’ll be paying the Gardai double time for the privilege of supporting this visit. I sincerely hope we roll out the red carpet for Zelenskyy in all aspects of the state visit, some people don’t seem to realize he’s the most important statesman of our generation
