The chief architects of the ~~capitulation~~ peace proposal are understood to be Putin’s buddy Steve Witkoff as well as Putin’s envoy Kirill Dmitriev.

How about no, comrades? Is that a good enough deal for you?

    2. Jawnny-Jawnson on

Yea because for some reason even tho the aggressor Russia is in a bad spot and not winning, Trump keeps trying to make Ukraine give up more concessions and hand Putin all the demands he made

    3. NocturneFogg on

If the U.S. had a vaguely sane administration it might work but Trump just goes in for headlines and seems bizarrely enamoured with Putin. I’d say from Zelenskyy’s point of view, at this stage it must just feel like he’s being repeatedly trolled. They just see it as a game they play on social media – the reality of it doesn’t seem to matter.

There is no negotiating with Russia. They have broken every treaty there is. Russia only understands force. Go in and kick them out

    5. potatolulz on

Well, he already refused the same “plan” when it was presented by russia months before 😀

neither Zelensky nor Putin was ever interested in peace agreement .

Imagine it’s 1940, the Nazis and their allies control all of central Europe, the Battle of Britain is raging and the UK is fighting a desperate battle for survival.

Churchill’s phone is ringing and Franklin D. Roosevelt is on the other end, eager to discuss his peace plan for Europe:

“The UK only has to give Wales and the southern tip of England to Hitler, cut down its military by half, never acquire any weapons that could reach over the Channel, German has to be made an official state language, the German neo-pagan church will become an offically recognized religion and we will promise the Germans that the UK will never receive any help from us whatsoever. What do you say, old chap?”

“Blimey! That sounds marvellous. You Yanks have solved all of our problems. How do you manage to be so awesome all the time?” Churchill replied, and they lived happily ever after.

      The End.

The question of any peace plan should be, “Was Witkoff involved in it, in any way?”, if the answer is yes, then the answer is no. Sideline him, like Russia forced Trump to do to Kellogg.

That’s not a peace plan. If USA wants to surrender to Russia so much, they can give up something that is their, like Alaska or California.

    10. DABOSSROSS9 on

Good. As long as trump administration doesnt press Ukraine to accept it, this is how negotiations work.

    11. niko2710 on

You guys are not getting it, it doesn’t matter what Ukraine wants. The US can just stop giving them missiles if they don’t accept the peace deal, a peace deal which doesn’t take into consideration any European country. It’s making a complete fool of us, because as US vassal states we have no say in the matter.

Putin won, not only territories but because it removed any prestige from the Europeans, we have no say in what happens in our continent anymore

    12. Mr_Chief1 on

Hear me out: Trump and the U.S. under his administration want a weakened Ukrainian army because a weak Ukraine means a weak Europe.

After the war, Ukraine’s modern battlefield experience and military innovation would give it one of the strongest weapons industries in the world. If Ukraine joins the EU and begins deep cooperation, it would significantly strengthen Europe as a whole. Trump doesn’t want that.

Trump doesn’t want Europe to thrive.

    13. Large_Awareness_9416 on

If you are not at the table, you are on the menu.

    14. So, from what I’ve heard, Trump doesn’t really care… he just wants both countries to keep destroying their oil industries, and he only makes offers that neither side can ever accept because they’re just meant to keep up the appearance that he’s trying to make peace.

    15. TheflyingAntz on

Ukraine did not give up in much more difficult circumstances of this war, – why would they do that now when they have better weapons, better equipment, better army, and steadfast support from allies?

    16. SimonArgead on

Oh gee. Considering how the “peace plan” is “not new” and is basically just a Ukranian surrender according to russias demands.

Wonder why he isn’t interested. /s

    17. xiaopewpew on

If US were to broker a peace deal with Russia, it shall be followed.

It is simple as that and Im just being realistic here. EU couldnt stand up to Russia during an invasion, do you think it will stand up to the US for a less than ideal peace treaty? Nah nah nah. Ofc Zelenski should be involved but we are way past what “should” have happened.

    18. OLDandBOLDfr on

Good. Fuck tRump and pootin. Slava Ukraini long live democracy.

    19. The_balt on

What people here don’t understand is that even if this deal will be favourable to Russia, it will still have big consequences on its economy and society. The new territories will need to be funded and Russia is running out of additional money/resources. And people in Russia will start to wonder what this all was for, and potentially turn against the government’s agenda.

So, why would you want Ukranians to continue to die if you can have a peace plan that will destroy Russia anyway? But in this, we will manage to saves Ukranian lives. I would be all for the peace plan just to stop killings of Ukranian army men and innocent civilians. On the other hand, Russia will have big problems post-war and you can be sure about that.

    20. CanadianPropagandist on

I don’t know why the U.S. administration keeps tabling these gag deals.

The first couple you could have argued were floated to do this whole “see, Ukraine doesn’t want peace!” narrative but the rest of the world didn’t bite.

But what’s the point of the fourth or fifth that are just as bad if not worse? Like it can’t just be the insult right? This administration isn’t that simple minded is it?

    21. ModeratelyGrumpy on

Knowing how the US deals with this stuff I genuinely believe the news about the deal being substantially “what’s the matter Ukraine? Just… give them what they want”.

    22. Kukkapen on

Those two buffoons waste everyone’s time and create stuff that only works in their heads.

Zelensky’s response is expected and logical. Russia has not shown it can destroy Ukraine’s army to force it to demilitarize, nor forcibly taken all the land it currently claims.

    23. Horror_Ad_7580 on

Well it was the exact same plan from the US a few months ago and will be the exact same plan aa few months later, US is as screwed as Russians in their attempts

    24. bandita07 on

Why not just freeze the front line where it is now and make the occupied territory as a buffer zone what the ruskies want between ruzzia and nato. Might Ukraine accept this. But giving the fortified territories to pootin is a big no in my opinion.

    25. KernunQc7 on

Trump should have listened more to Kellogg and less to his golfing buddy.

    26. Every next proposal will be worse than this one, with Ukraine in a worse position. Anyone with any objectivity and critical thinking is aware of that, but this sub is definitely not renowned for having either of these traits.

    27. Camel-Interloper on

Easy to refuse peace when you are a dual passport holder
