It seems like we have a governmant that’s actually getting on with stuff? I’m not used to this.
How come UK projects cost so much? £1.7bn for 2 stations with less than 4km of track seems expensive.
For comparison, Copenhagen built a 16km metro line with 17 stations (and a depot) right in the middle of the city with similar small driverless metro trains in 2019 for about £2.6bn.
Meanwhile, HS2 languishes without the Northern extension that wouldn’t cost that much more than this.
