In Ternopil, on November 19, rescuers pulled 20-year-old Bohdan from beneath the rubble of a nine-story building on Stus Street 8 that had been struck by Russia. Denys Karpenko, a rescuer from the Main Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Center of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, described the circumstances of the young man’s rescue.
“We held a ‘minute of silence’ and heard a voice under the rubble calling for help. My colleagues and I started talking to the victim and clearing the debris. We stayed in constant contact with him because he was nervous and screaming. I calmed him: ‘Don’t waste your strength — there’s a lot of debris above you that we need to clear. Be patient and wait, we will definitely save you.’”
Six rescuers managed to free the young man from under the rubble of the kitchen.
“The young man miraculously survived. He was in the kitchen, next to the refrigerator. A kitchen chair had pinned him down. He was lying in a fetal position, there was very little space to breathe. His right arm was crushed. It was a miracle he survived. It’s a miracle. I have never seen anyone survive under such conditions, there was very little air”
These rescuers are true heros. Working without regard to save their fellow people, in spite of what may be flying in over their shoulder from the wicked invaders every time.

Correction, it is not a minute of silence for the killed. It is a minute of silence to try and hear the survivors. A standard procedure during rescue operations like this

One Ukrainian living light the malignant cancer cells couldn’t extinguish.
Glory to the rescuers for all they have to experience and yet still work relentlessly.
I’m sure the medicos will do everything possible to save Bodhan’s crushed arm (hand?).
Every loved one’s nightmare. His mother desperately wanting her son to be alive (I changed setting to CC and English – may not be perfect but possibly okay translation): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtqO9XVT-OA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtqO9XVT-OA)
