I can’t wait to see all the people saying “yea, it’s worse” and this get derailed into a massive argument about how everything is shit and no one cares.
Honestly, I do wonder what the world would be like if we all collectively took a week long break from the news and internet.

There are still some issues, though.
Like overwhelming taxation of the middle class, extensive bureaucracy or mild approach to criminals.
The fact that the UK is no longer in the EU (because of vague reasons).
Plus same challenges as other developed countries share, like unaffordable housing, lack of simple, accessible jobs.
It is not like everyone is going to become an AI engineer. People need boring, manual industry jobs.
Oh and inflation.

Honestly, this is a broader problem. We’re in a situation where living standards are stagnating i.e. haven’t gotten worse or better, after Brexit, a global pandemic where we had to close down most of our economy, a housing crash followed by 15 years of austerity, a mini-budget which shook the confidence of the market, a war that severely messed with our energy supply and recently the leader of the US acting like a madman and tariffing the whole goddamn world.
Might I add that half of what I listed above was in caused by the catastrophising of the citizens of their country, causing them to vote for populist policies or politicians. If we all just chill out and trust institutions, things will start to get better.

Yes please! Some positivity. The UK is alright in my book. Got its problems, sure, but all things considered it could be worse.
